Apprenticeships
Get new skills. Get paid. Simple as that.
Apprenticeships are designed to give young people valuable qualifications, vital work experience – and a salary while they’re studying.
It’s the perfect combination: think of it as a job with training!
Apprenticeships from Derby College provide young people aged 16-24 with a work-based route to a skilled occupation, supported by on-the-job training.
The benefits are enormous. You’ll be able to:
• Develop vocational skills with the help of specialists who genuinely understand the industry in which you want to work.
• Learn practical skills from experts, gain a nationally recognised qualification and even get paid.
• Improve your general skills in areas such as communication and team working.
You will work towards a recognised framework of qualifications made up of Key Skills, a Technical Certificate, and an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a subject related to your work. Derby College tutors will visit you at regular intervals in your workplace to review your progress.
The range of apprenticeship options on offer from Derby College is constantly expanding. You can choose from apprenticeships, advanced apprenticeships and higher level apprenticeships.
