Who is this course for?
This Electrical and Electronic Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship is suitable for people who are interested in designing, developing and maintaining electrical and electronic systems and technologies. It is ideal for individuals with strong problem‑solving skills, an aptitude for maths and science, and a desire to apply theory in real‑world engineering environments. The apprenticeship suits both new entrants to the profession and existing employees looking to upskill, combining paid employment with academic study to build the technical knowledge, professional behaviours and practical experience needed for a career as a professional engineer.
Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at C/4 or above which must include Maths, English and Science. You must also have achieved an Engineering knowledge qualification such as a BTEC.
You will complete an interview with curriculum before any offer is accepted.
What will you learn?
You will study two years of a foundation degree in Engineering and complete the BEng year in the third year. You will also complete work place assessments.
How will you learn?
You will attend college one day per week for 3 years. You will also complete assessments and workplace progress reviews.
What will you need to bring with you?
A laptop would be beneficial.
How will you be assessed?
Through assignments, exams and work-based projects.

This Electrical and Electronic Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship is ideal for employers looking to develop a highly skilled engineering workforce aligned to their current and future business needs. It supports organisations across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, construction, transport and advanced engineering to grow talent with strong technical knowledge, practical capability and professional engineering behaviours. The apprenticeship enables employers to upskill existing staff or recruit new talent, improving productivity and retention while building in‑house expertise through a cost‑effective, work‑based route to degree‑level engineering competence.
Are they any entry requirements for my apprentice?

What is required from the employer in the workplace?
To provide the apprentice with time to attend college, this will be day release over 3 years. The apprentice would also require time in the workplace with their assessor to complete work-based assessments and progress reviews.
Behaviours expected within the role
All apprentices are expected to work and learn in a respectful and professional manner.
What qualification will my apprentice gain?
BEng in Engineering.
Level 6 Apprenticeship.
What will the assessment look like?
The apprentice will complete a mix of assignments, exams and work-based projects.
