HOW DO APPRENTICESHIPS WORK?

As an apprentice you will:

• Work alongside experienced staff
• Gain job specific skills Earn a wage and get holiday pay
• Study towards a related qualification (usually for one day a week)

Your employer will:

• Employ you in a dedicated role
• Pay your wages
• Provide on-the-job training
• Assign you to a work mentor who will support you as an apprentice
• Work closely with your training provider

• Coach and mentor you
• See if you’re entitled to funding to help pay for some or all of your course fees
• Provide classroom and work-based training
• Support you with study skills to help you qualify
