High Level Skills

High Level Skills for SMEs

The Derby College Group (DCG) and partners across the region have been awarded funding from the European Social Fund to help more local people stay in work and support employers to up-skill their current employees.

High Level Skills works with employers across Derby, Derbyshire and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) to increase the skill levels of their workforce and help them overcome barriers which prevent them from undertaking in-work training.

High Level Skills aim to help employers in sectors where significant skills gaps have been identified. The region’s ten key sectors are:

  • Construction
  • Creative and Digital
  • Food and Drink Manufacturing
  • Low Carbon
  • Transport Equipment Manufacturing
  • Visitor Economy
  • Professional & Business Services
  • Hospitality
  • Retail
  • Health and Social Care

Our offer as part of this programme is to deliver a suite of, high quality training courses for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in order to upskill the D2N2 supply chain with the higher level and technical skills required to respond to new opportunities and to deal with current and future business challenges.
