The Students' Union offers unrivalled services to help you enjoy the very best experience during your time at Derby College.
Derby College Students' Union (DCSU) was actually voted the FE Students' Union of the Year in the NUS Awards for 2008.
It means you can be sure of outstanding representation, excellent support services and a fantastic array of entertainment, clubs and societies to enrich your social life and broaden your interests.
Independent from the College and democratically run by the student body with the help of a full-time team of staff, DCSU ensures that the diverse interests and needs of students are promoted and supported both within and outside the College. It gives you chance to have a vital input into decision-making processes, to contribute to the development of the College, and to give feedback on the issues important to you.
As well as acting as the voice of Derby College students, DCSU provides a range of support via its own Student Advice Centre, offering confidential, impartial guidance. The Welfare Team's door is always open and there are regular awareness campaigns on key concerns affecting students.
The Students' Union is also right at the heart of the social action at Derby College. It has its own social areas on each site where you can relax, listen to music and meet your friends.
An action-packed programme of entertainment, events, trips abroad, sports and other activities is also on offer via the Union's clubs and societies, bringing a whole new dimension to your College days - and nights!
And, if you would like to try volunteering, there are exciting opportunities to play your part in worthy causes and projects either at College or in the wider community.
Membership of DCSU is free and automatic for all registered students of the College - and you'll be able to qualify for a variety of special discounts and offers via the NUS Extra Card scheme.
