Engineering Courses at DCG

Join a profession where the opportunities are limitless. Studying Engineering is your route into a high-earning career working on diverse and exciting projects. Skilled engineers are in demand to shape the products, materials and technologies of tomorrow – and DCG will equip you for that challenge.

Mechanical, manufacturing or electronics: whatever branch of engineering sparks your interest, we can power up your career plans. As advances in fields like robotics and artificial intelligence are transforming today’s industries, we help you develop the qualities that really matter to employers – technical ability coupled with problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.

In what is the country’s leading high-tech city, you’ll get hands-on with everything from computer aided design and 3D printing to pneumatic, hydraulic and robotic control systems. Our state-of-the-art mechatronics lab introduces you to the processes found on up-to-the-minute production lines.

Alongside full-time Engineering qualifications that give you a head start, we support apprenticeships covering disciplines such as lean manufacturing, welding, toolmaking, mechatronics, machining and technical support. You don’t even have to leave DCG to progress to higher education: the options go all the way up to a BEng Honours Degree.

Key Information

Drawing on wide-ranging experience in the engineering industry as well as academic credibility, our teachers ensure students achieve to their full potential. They have forged strong partnerships with leading names such as Rolls-Royce plc and JCB as well as innovative small and medium-sized companies which are growing rapidly and creating new job opportunities.

These key industry contacts mean that your learning will be supported by work experience, internships, company visits, trips to engineering landmarks, guest lectures and professional mentoring. Employers regularly work with our staff to set real-world challenges: our students have designed model aeroplanes, advanced renewable energy initiatives and joined ‘women into engineering’ campaigns.
