Equine Courses at DCG

Would you love a job working with horses every day? You can learn all about riding, exercising and caring for horses at DCG’s Equestrian Centre – and gain the skills to become a first-rate equine professional with a fantastic range of career options ahead of you.

Where better than Broomfield Hall – with its 40 stables, indoor and outdoor schools, and cross-country schooling field – to prepare for your future in the equine world? Offering an exciting mix of theory and practical tasks, our courses stand you in good stead for roles such as groom, yard manager, equine welfare officer, riding instructor, horse trainer and equine behaviourist.

Hands-on experience will be key to your learning. You’ll work on daily and weekend rotas, taking responsibility for the yard and horses. You could join dressage and show jumping competitions, work behind-the-scenes at events like Chatsworth Horse Trials, and gain additional British Horse Society (BHS) qualifications.

For students keen to take their career prospects to the next level, our Foundation and Honours Degrees in Equine Science, Management and Training are a smart move. We also support apprenticeships and run popular ‘improve your riding’ sessions for the public.
