The Sleigh Safe campaign, held at the Roundhouse campus, featured interactive activities designed to help students make informed choices and stay safe during the holiday season. Highlights included:
- Fact vs Fiction – busting myths about alcohol.
- Mocktail Bar – promoting enjoyable, alcohol-free alternatives.
- Drunk Driving Awareness Challenges – educating students on the dangers of impaired driving.
Students also engaged in creative activities such as decorating a Christmas tree with safety pledges, encouraging positive decisions and peer support.
Alongside these activities, students accessed essential resources on student health and wellbeing, sexual health, harm reduction, and healthy relationships, supported by external partners including Change Grow Live, a national charity offering confidential help with drug and alcohol use.
Seraya Cliff, Head of Student Development, said:
“The Sleigh Safe event combines fun with important messages, helping students celebrate responsibly and look after their wellbeing.”
Vice Principal Aaron Denton added:
“Student safety is central to our mission. This campaign reflects our commitment to supporting students beyond the classroom.”
The event also featured competitions and giveaways, making safety education engaging and memorable. Additional support came from Mental Roots, local health services, and the College’s Pastoral Support.
