Construction – Electrical Installation Courses at DCG

With around 20,000 electrical contracting companies in the UK, there’s plenty of opportunity for skilled electricians with industry-recognised training.

Power up your career

Electricity is a varied and demanding business. You could find yourself re-wiring homes, laying cables for major engineering projects, maintaining street lighting, testing factory machinery or working with the latest renewable technology.

Derby College will set you on the route recognised by the electrical industry to become a qualified electrician. We offer diplomas at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels to help you progress to greater responsibility and more challenging projects.

We also work in partnership with employers to deliver an advanced apprenticeship which is a common way into the profession. There are part-time specialist courses for working electricians who need to upgrade their skills too.
