You will learn a range of skills and gain a great deal of on the job experience throughout your apprenticeship. What will the apprentice be doing?
- Undertake a period of training to acquire the skills to be able to carry out Plastering work to the required standard
- Solid plastering involves applying a range of plastering systems on to different background surfaces such as solid plain walls, walls with openings and returns, ceiling joists and partitions and beams using traditional and modern materials. Solid plasterers would work on site
- In your daily work you will interact with other construction trades such as bricklayers, carpenters and also customers
- Work within various Repair & maintenance teams & shadow other operatives
- Complete a weekly timesheet and other paperwork associated with your role
- At all times wear appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment relative to the task
- To be responsible for the care, use & safety of the company’s vehicles, tools & equipment
- Report all accidents and or hazardous occurrences
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying at Derby College
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- There is no guarantee of a permanent position at the end of the Apprenticeship. However, opportunities and vacancies will arise that Apprentices can apply for
