Apprentice Maintenance Engineer

Based at our bakery in Derby, you will join our maintenance team consisting of 8 experienced engineers with a wealth of knowledge. This is a varied role in a fast-paced production and retail environment.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The role will cover:

  • Repair and maintenance of every piece of equipment in the bakery and savoury departments.
  • Electrical  and mechanical skills.
  • PLC fault finding.
  • Work on various equipment in our 61 retail shops.
  • Work as part of an efficient and effective team to ensure that any breakdown in equipment is repaired quickly.
  • You will report to the Engineering Manager.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician level 3.
  • Training is carried out at DCG and the workplace.

Things to consider

Once the apprenticeship is completed the start time will be 6.00am and in the future there may be a requirement to work other shifts. Candidates must understand that there will be a physical element to the role.
