Derwent Medical Centre is looking to recruit an Apprentice Receptionist / Administrator to work within their friendly team. The role is challenging and rewarding with significant patient contact, both face to face and over the telephone.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Making telephone appointments for patients
  • Handling patient signposting
  • Data entry using the practice clinical system
  • Photocopying
  • Filing
  • Any additional duties as required in a GP surgery, whilst always maintaining patient confidentiality

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administration (Standard) - Level 3.

This apprenticeship will be completed by working 4 days per week onsite with the employer, learning the job role and gaining valuable work experience, and then 1 day per week completing college work remotely.

English and Maths Functional Skills may be completed alongside the apprenticeship if necessary, however, passing this will be mandatory to receive the apprenticeship qualification.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Permanent role available on completion of the apprenticeship.
