CORONAVIRUS COVID-19

The government have announced on the 21st February the next phase of the government’s COVID-19 response, including that:

  • Contacts are no longer required to self-isolate, or advised to take daily tests, and contact tracing has ended.
  • There is no longer a legal requirement for people with coronavirus (COVID-19) infection to self-isolate, however if you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive test result, the public health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

COVID-19 continues to be a virus that we learn to live with, and our priority is to support face-to-face deliver of high-quality education to all students in line with government guidance.

Talking futures

When it comes to education and careers, parents, carers and guardians are the biggest Influence in young people’s lives. Talking Futures is a resource designed and created to help you have informed and constructive conversations with your child about training and education pathways available.

The first step in helping your child decide on their future career is preparing them to understand their values, interests and what’s important to them.

That’s exactly what their ‘Pathway Planner’ is for, which you can download for free at https://www.talkingfutures.org.uk/resources/

Work through it together and help your child think about where to go for more information and support to help them with their decision making.

Next Steps

The Next Steps process, for all full-time students, has begun and over the next few weeks your child will talk to their personal tutor about plans for their next step.
