New exciting opportunity for Level 3 Teaching Assistants/Support Workers

Derby College Group (DCG) has recently introduced a brand new hybrid course for those wishing to obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

This course will be delivered online (via Microsoft Teams), with half-termly classroom based sessions, delivered at The Roundhouse.

The new hybrid method of learning will offer students flexibility, giving them a better study/life balance, and make it more accessible for those who would struggle to travel to college on a regular basis.

Interactive learning will also help learners to develop their digital literacy, store and access resources and personalise their own experience.

Teacher of the new level 3 hybrid course, Louise Sabin, said:

We’re incredibly excited for the new course and the hybrid way of learning.

“This innovative approach opens up so many possibilities: the blend of online and face-to-face sessions offers flexibility, accessibility, and the chance to engage with a diverse group of learners.

“Using Microsoft Teams for interactive learning and collaboration is a fantastic way to enhance the educational experience.

“Overall, it’s an exciting opportunity to be part of this modern, dynamic educational model!”

Teaching Assistants work in primary, special and secondary/college education across all age ranges and encompassing special educational needs and emotional vulnerabilities.

The primary role of the Teaching Assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress.
