Derby College Group to host flagship Women in Engineering event on International Women in STEM Day

Derby College Group is hosting a flagship Women in Engineering event on Wednesday 11 February, coinciding with International Women in STEM Day.  

This exciting evening will bring together global engineering leaders, inspiring speakers, and young people to explore the future of STEM and engineering careers. 

The event will take place in state-of-the-art facilities at EMIoT – a specialist hub delivering high-level technical education and engineering courses aligned with modern industry needs.  

EMIoT works closely with employers to ensure learners gain advanced skills for sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, rail, digital, and clean technologies, helping to close skills gaps and boost economic growth across the East Midlands. 

What to expect: 

  • Inspiring talks on why women are vital to the future of engineering 
  • Real-world stories from professionals in STEM and engineering 
  • Hands-on activities and networking opportunities 
  • Guidance on routes into engineering – from apprenticeships and college courses to long-term professional pathways 

Leading organisations including Siemens Mobility, TÜV Rheinland, Network Rail, Porterbrook, Amey, plus SheCanEngineer and Women in Rail, will be on hand to offer insight and advice to young people considering a career in engineering.
