The Meditation Garden, inspired by Buddhist principles and created in partnership with the Birmingham Buddhist Vihara Temple, offers visitors a tranquil space for mindfulness, reflection, and connection with nature.
The garden was designed by student Sarah Coe and built by DCG’s Level 3 Horticulture students at the College’s Broomfield Hall campus.
Leading the project, Paul Brady, Teacher of Horticulture at DCG, said:
“This garden is more than just a display, it’s a sanctuary where people can pause, breathe, and reconnect with the world around them.
Winning silver is a fantastic recognition for the students and a proud moment for everyone involved.”
The award builds on Derby College’s growing reputation for horticultural excellence, following last year’s Platinum Garden Award at the same event.
