Beauty Students share their thoughts on the future of AI in the industry

We were delighted to welcome Jack Jones from ITV Central to our beauty salon this week, where he spoke with our students and filmed them about the future of the industry and the potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI).

Students shared their views on whether AI could ever replace the personal, specialist care provided by beauty professionals:

Darcee Naylor Walker (17, from Mickleover, Level 3 Beauty student) said:

“AI can’t replicate the personal service, trust, and one-to-one connection you get from a trained beauty specialist.

“When people come in for a treatment, it’s not just about the results, it’s about how they feel, the confidence they gain, and the relationship they build with their therapist. That’s something AI will never replace.”

Nikita Sandhu (Level 2 Beauty student and Level 1 Beauty teacher) shared a more balanced view:

“AI definitely has potential to support the beauty industry, whether it’s virtual consultations, new product testing, or improving training.

“But we have to be careful. It could create unrealistic expectations and experiences that don’t reflect real-life beauty. The human element will always be vital.”

Soraya Inneh (17, from Sinfin, Level 3 Beauty student) demonstrated treatments for the ITV cameras, showcasing the skills, techniques, and professionalism that make the beauty industry so unique.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their insights and highlight the importance of skilled professionals in the beauty industry, even as technology continues to evolve.
