Course Information for Students

This course is for students who are considering studying Level 2 BSL but would like some additional practice to build their confidence. 

Learners must have successfully achieved the BSL Level 1 Award or be working at that level.

Student will need to have sufficient manual dexterity, sight and facial movement to produce and receive BSL. 

During this course you will begin to explore BSL grammar in more depth.

You will work on your use and understanding of BSL Signs Non-Manual Features (NMF).

You will also start to develop your BSL receptive skills.

In classes with group work and practical sessions

Please bring a folder to store handouts, paper and pen.

At the end of the course, learners will be assessed. You will receive feedback to support your continued improvement and on your suitability for enrolling on the Level 2 Certificate in BSL. 

This course has been designed specifically to support learners in bridging the gap between studying at Level 1 and Level 2.

Subject to successful completion of the course, you may be recommended to enrol at Level 2.

The skills learnt will also be beneficial for communicating with other BSL users at home or work.
