Who is this course for?
This is a valuable course which increases employability within the Building Services industry. It will require considerable commitment and effort to complete but offers a superior pathway to employment. It covers the advanced technical aspects of electrical installation and testing.
Entry Requirements
You should have already completed the Level 2 qualification or have some relevant experience and knowledge of the industry. You will need GCSE English and Maths at grade C (4) or above. You will also have to complete and pass a formal interview and a progression assessment.
What will you learn?
The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the electrotechnical sector. You will cover compulsory aspects such as:
- work safely and effectively
- design, construct, test and commission electrical systems
- methods of supervision
- electrical science and principles
- regulations and law
- diagnose and repair electrical faults.
How will you learn?
You will learn on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
Students will be required to purchase three polo shirts, a pair of boots and trouser overalls. They are also advised to purchase course books for revision. A small tool kit is recommended.
How will you be assessed?
You will be assessed via practical assignments and on-demand multiple choice tests, which are available through the City & Guilds e-assessment platform, e-volve.

This is the perfect opportunity to gain employment and complete an NVQ in electrical installation.
