Do you enjoy gaming?

Do you love the idea of competitive gaming and the challenge of difficult games? Would you like an understanding of how the professional Esports industry works? Perhaps you’d like a career as a professional gamer or to study Esports at university?

Endorsed by The British Esports Association, the course will give you a solid foundation in understanding how the Esports industry works. It is a career-focused course with industry endorsement that will enable you to develop your underpinning knowledge, technical and transferable skills and to gain experience in a variety of different sections of the Esports industry.

Equivalent in size to three A-levels, the Extended Diploma is designed to be studied as part of a two-year study programme.  This will allow you access to employment in a wider range of Esports areas. This qualification also offers you the opportunity to progress to further study and higher education.

If you would like to develop a range of skills within the Esports and related industries, then this is the qualification for you.

Typically, you will have at least five GCSEs graded A*- C/9 – 4, including English Language and Maths. Alternatively, you may have equivalent intermediate qualifications at Merit grade or above, along with GCSE grade 4/C in English Language and Maths.

Importantly, a university application will probably require five GCSEs graded C/4 or above, including both English Language and Maths GCSE at grade 4/C or above.

While studying this pathway you will take between eight and thirteen units, culminating in a final major project.

These units will develop your understanding of how different esports institutions operate to create products that appeal to specific target audiences. The units also develop your transferable skills such as critical and contextual awareness, planning, design and research skills, and leadership skills. Throughout the course, you will understand how esports products are used and learn how to design, create and test a product.

Other skills that will be developed include working in a team, communication, adaptability and evaluation. You will also have opportunities to find out from employers how the skills and knowledge you acquire are used in the workplace.

This course will be delivered on-site.
