You will need basic literacy and numeracy skills, and some basic knowledge of animal care. You should be aged 6-12 years.

The course will cover:

  • Feeding the animals
  • Enrichment building

  • Cleaning the accommodation
  • Handling (where applicable)
  • Maintenance on the animal unit

The course involves practical experience on the Animal Unit at Broomfield Hall.

You will be required to supply your own boots or wellingtons, which should preferably be steel toe-capped, or you can borrow some from the animal unit. A packed lunch and drink are also required for the experience.
