Gas Network Craftsperson’s are employed by organisations authorised to transport gas throughout the United Kingdom. This apprenticeship develops a wide range of skills in engineering, electrical, and working with & the safe operation of the transportation of gas.

Who is this course for?
The course is an apprenticeship standard and suitable for an apprentice employed by organisations authorised to transport gas throughout the United Kingdom.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSE’s at grade C/4 or above including maths, English, and sciences, or equivalent level 2 qualifications.
What will you learn?
Apprentices will complete a level 3 engineering technical qualification that includes maths and science principles, mechanical and electrical engineering skills, fluid power systems, and implementing engineering projects.
How will you learn?
Attendance at college is required to complete practical skills training and the completion of a level 3 technical qualification. Work-based observations and assessments will also by completed as part of the apprentices training.
What will you need to bring with you?
Full PPE will be required and relevant stationary to complete college/assignment work. Full details will be provided on entry to the apprenticeship as part of the induction process.
How will you be assessed?
A range of assessment methods will be completed throughout the apprenticeship including, assignments, knowledge tests, work-placed observations and report writing. The apprentice will also need to complete an End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship to be able to achieve the apprenticeship standard.
Where next?
The apprentice will be able to progress on to a higher or degree apprenticeship on completion of the Gas Network Craftsperson apprenticeship standard.

Apprenticeship summary
The apprenticeship standard and suitable for an apprentice employed by organisations authorised to transport gas throughout the United Kingdom. Organisations may vary from very large companies who own and operate networks that supply towns and cities across a wide geographical area, through to small companies who own independent networks that supply small housing developments.
Are they any entry requirements for my apprentice?
Five GCSE’s at grade C/4 or above including maths, English, and sciences, or equivalent level 2 qualifications.
What is required from the employer in the workplace?
The employer will need to mentor the apprentice and provide specialist training as required throughout the apprenticeship. The employer will also be required to attend regular progress review meetings with the apprentice and the college Assessor.
Behaviours expected within the role
The apprentice will be expected to demonstrate self-discipline, and be polite and courteous professional to all customers, stakeholders, and members of the public as appropriate. The apprentice will always demonstrate a safety-first approach and accept accountability when undertaking individual or team tasks. A quality focus and professional approach in-work, whilst adhering to high personal standards will also need to be maintained.
What qualification will my apprentice gain?
