Course Information for Students

This apprenticeship is aimed at individuals working as bar supervisors. It builds their experience and knowledge with the support of their assessor and managers. The apprenticeship entails:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English
  • End-point assessment
  • 20% off-the-job training

You should have Level 1 Maths and English qualifications or a grade D GCSE.

You should be keen to pursue a career in bar management and should be working in a position of bar supervisor trainee for at least 30 contracted hours per week.

  • Level 2 Maths and English Functional Skills
  • Practical and theory training covering each aspect of becoming a bar supervisor
  • 20% off-the-job training
  • End-point assessment

The apprenticeship will be delivered in the workplace 

You will need a laptop.

Further Study

You could progress to Level 4/5 leadership and management qualifications or an assessors award.

Course Information for Employers

The apprentice will be working as a bar supervisor, gaining experience and knowledge with the support of their assessor and the management team. The apprenticeship entails:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English
  • End-point assessment
  • 20% off-the-job training
  • Level 1 Maths and English qualifications or a grade D GCSE
  • A position of bar supervisor trainee for at least 30 contracted hours per week
  • Interest in pursuing a career in bar management
  • Support and training of at least 20% per week
  • Contract of 30 hours or more
  • Paid time to attend College
  • Timekeeping
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Level 2 Maths and English
  • End-point assessment in bar supervision
  • Observations

Only if they are not exempt from Maths or English or need additional theory support.

They can advance to Level 4/5 leadership and management qualifications.
