Who is this course for?
This one-day course aims to prepare participants for the NPTC Certificate of Competence in the Safe Use of Pesticides qualification. The course also includes assessment, to be arranged on a separate day.
Entry Requirements
You must have passed your PA1 Foundation module before taking the PA6 assessment.
The minimum age for candidates is 16 years.
What will you learn?
- Know the legislative and safety regulations relating to pesticide plug installation
- Be able to assess the environmental factors relating to the installation site
- Be able to read and interpret product information
- Be able to prepare pesticide plug application equipment and calculate numbers of plugs required
- Be able to install pesticide plugs
- Know how to carry out post-operational procedures
How will you learn?
Learning will be both theory and practical-based, delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own:
- Steel toe-capped wellington boots
- Spray suit
- Rubber gloves approved for pesticide use
- Writing materials
- Lunch (there will be facilities available on site if you wish to purchase your lunch at College)
How will you be assessed?
There is a practical assessment, lasting approximately two hours, which is taken on a separate day. Tests can be taken at College or on your own site.
