Apprenticeship – Dental Nurse – Level 3
This apprenticeship equips you to work as a dental nurse, a role which complements that of other dental professionals. One of the primary duties is to provide chair-side support to dental professionals and deliver a high level of patient care.

Who is this course for?
This apprenticeship leads to a mandatory qualification for anyone who wants to pursue a career as a dental nurse.
Entry Requirements
You need GCSEs at grade 4/C or above.
You should already be working in a dentist environment, but we can help with this.
What will you learn?
Examples of what you will cover include:
- Communication skills
- Customer service
- How to carry out infection control procedures
- How to support the dentist
- How to give good advice on oral health to the customer
- Recognise and deal with emergencies
How will you learn?
There is classroom delivery in College to support your on-the-job training.
What will you need to bring with you?
You need a laptop.

Is there any financial support available?
You do not pay for the apprenticeship but the employer will need to make a 5% contribution.

This is a Level 3 Dental Nursing apprenticeship.
Are they any entry requirements for my apprentice?
The apprentice will need GCSEs at grade 4/C or above. They should be already working in a dentist environment but we can help you find the right person for the role.

- Support and training for the apprentice
- Paid time to attend College or complete work
- Reviews to be completed in a timely fashion
- Support going through the apprenticeship gateway to the End Point Assessment
