Course Summary

Going Within - Working with the Seven Attitudes of Mindfulness

This two-day course will provide an opportunity for you to retreat from your usual day to day and be in the present moment in the company of like-minded people, taking time out to rekindle or dig deeper into your mindfulness practice.

The course is also open to those new to mindfulness who would like to develop a regular practice or explore mindfulness for the first time.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this experience, but you should be aged 19+. Children aged 16+ can attend if accompanied by an adult.

We will also be teaching some simple mindful meditation practices, including mindful sitting and mindful movement.  If you aren’t sure whether this workshop is suitable for you, our mindfulness facilitator is happy to discuss it with you.

People with all levels of experience are welcome.

Course Content

Over the two days we will explore together in detail how to incorporate Mindful Living into your daily experience by delving into each of the attitudinal approaches to mindfulness as developed by Jon Kabat Zinn:

  • Non-Judging
  • Patience
  • Beginner's Mind
  • Trust
  • Non-Striving
  • Acceptance
  • Letting Go

All of the main mindfulness meditations will be facilitated over the course of the two days to include the body scan, mindfulness of breathing, mindful movement, working with difficulty and developing loving kindness.

How will I be assessed?

At an introductory level, you will be taught a range of simple exercises that enable you to develop a new and more helpful sense of awareness.  No prior knowledge is required. Don’t worry - we will tell you and show you all you need to know.

Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required?

Bring a mat, cushion and blanket, an open mind, a willingness to practise and YOU - that’s ALL!

Lunch and soft refreshments will be provided and are inclusive of the price paid.

What can I do after this course?
