Course Summary

Over six weeks we aim to equip beginners with a basic grasp of the language needed to communicate in Spanish.

Entry requirements

The course is aimed at adults aged 19+.

No previous knowledge of Spanish is required.

Course Content

We will cover key phrases and vocabulary along with anticipated questions and answers likely to be needed in common situations.
There is a focus on listening, reading and speaking. A small amount of writing will be necessary, although the emphasis will be on oral communication. The course includes:

• Greetings and salutations
• Numbers, dates and times
• Shopping/groceries
• Booking a restaurant/ordering a meal/drinks
• Meeting people
• Asking simple questions
• Basic vocabulary
• Present tense

Each week we will start with revisiting the previous session to reinforce learning. 

How will I be assessed?

Learners will be encouraged to work with each other in a warm and supportive group atmosphere.  There will be an emphasis on speaking, repetition and listening, but those wishing to write things down will be encouraged to do so.
