Course Summary

This taster will introduce the basic principles of psychology and how they can be applied to criminality.  Topics such as jury decision-making, false confession and how criminals are made - all of which are covered in our main ten-week Criminal Psychology course - will be among the themes touched upon in the session.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements. However, due to the nature of the content, anyone wanting to complete this course must be aged at least 16.

Course Content

This is a taster session preparing students to immerse themselves in topics such as the link between interrogation and false confession, detecting lies and offender profiling.

There are interactive in-class quizzes.

Further Study

The main Criminal Psychology course will be two hours per week for ten weeks starting in April 2018.
