What will the apprentice be doing?
- The successful apprentice would be required to work with children with additional needs and must have an understanding of the complexities they may present.
- They must be keen to engage with the wider life of the school, have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- Working as a general TA in KS1. Duties will include supporting the class teacher to deliver quality teaching and learning.
- Supporting small groups to access intervention both in class and in the corridor learning space. Supporting children with additional needs to meet their individual targets under the direction of the teacher.
- Acting as a role model and upholding our value of respect.
- Supporting children’s behaviour using our behaviour system and strategies.
- Being vigilant and curious with regard to safeguarding and welfare needs.
- Attending training and meetings where appropriate/required.
- Being on the playground duty rota.
- Apprentices will also be required to work 1:1 with a child with additional needs for part of the day and/or spend time in the breakout space with another adult, supporting children with activities to meet their SEND targets.
