What will the apprentice be doing?
- Establish rapport and respectful, trusting relationships with children, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
- Following appropriate training and in line with school procedures, to administer basic first aid and/or medication as required
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children by encouraging them to interact with each other and to engage in activities
- To understand the importance of inclusion, equality and diversity, both when working with children and with colleagues, and to promote equal opportunities for all
- To attend and participate in relevant meetings as appropriate
- Being responsible for supporting child initiated and adult led activities based around the needs and interests of each individual child
- Supporting the observation and assessment of the children
- Working as part of a team to ensure each child feels safe and secure
- Working in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals
- Having a duty of care and following relevant safeguarding procedures

• Willingness to undertake training in relevant learning strategies • You will be expected to be flexible with the working hours to ensure ratios are maintained.
