Cake Celebration
Students at Derby College’s new Catering and Hospitality academy based at The Roundhouse in Pride Park have created a magnificent two layer cake to celebrate the third annual National Apprenticeship Week.
The sponge cake, decorated in icing matching the apprenticeship logo, will be cut at the official East Midlands launch of the week in Nottingham on Monday February 1.
Derby College Executive Head Chef Shirley Sweeney explained: “It has been a privilege to be asked to make the cake which will be the centre piece of the National Apprenticeship Week regional celebrations.
“Although the catering and hospitality Academy was launched in September, the College has an excellent reputation for working with employers throughout the area and supporting apprentices both at College and in the workplace and we plan to expand this area of work in the coming years.”
