Hazel Cummings, who is 18 and from Hilton, found that Joseph Wright College really suited her learning style.
As someone who prefers to work quietly and without distractions, she appreciated being able to do A-level coursework from home.
Hazel, who went to Chellaston School, achieved an A* in her Geology A-level as well an A in EPQ and Bs in Physics and Art.
She is now off to Keele University to study for a degree in geology and hopes to become a geologist one day.
Hazel said: “I like spending time learning outdoors too, so for me one of the best parts of taking A-levels at Joseph Wright was the field trips to Anglesey.”
