The College Careers team can support all students with a range of things, including: making decisions about their next step options, ways to identify and develop their strengths, skills and abilities in relation to their next step; plus, practical help with making applications and preparing CVs.

To book a Careers appointment for support with a range of careers issues, including Next Steps guidance and option choices, students, or their parents/carers, can email:

Next Steps Guide

The Careers team have compiled a handy guide for students (and parents/carers) which gives a snapshot of where they can undertake research and move forward with their chosen next step. It also suggests ways students can start to gather ideas about options/routes if they are unsure which pathway is right for them.

Students can then take their findings/ideas along to a Careers appointment to discuss further and get their questions answered (to book an appointment please email: and include your child’s student ID number)

The Next Steps guide is on the Careers Guidance Services’ Sharepoint site, under ‘Next Steps’

Summer Guide to opportunities, events and activities

Whether your child is leaving College this summer or returning- our Summer Guide highlights opportunities and events to support their next step, including interesting and rewarding ways they can make the most of their summer break!

The Guide is due out towards the end of June, so please ask your child to check their College email, the DCG App or the Careers team’s SharePoint site for further details and to download a copy.

If your child applied through UCAS this year, please encourage them to regularly check their UCAS Hub, as this will tell them which date they are required to reply to any offers they have received (they will receive reminder emails about this from UCAS as well). If they do not reply (via their UCAS Hub) by their given date, all their offers will be automatically declined.

The next ‘reply by’ date: If they receive their last decision on or before 12th July 2023, their reply date is 17th July 2023 (including Extra choices) Further details on replying to offers, can be found here: Deadlines for Accepting University Offers | UCAS
