Course Information for Students

This course is aimed at learners who have an inclusion need.

It focuses on preparation for adulthood and developing skills working in hospitality and catering.

You will continue to study English and maths, will take part in a tutorial and will develop your skills preparing food in our on-site kitchen annexe. There is the opportunity to complete a work experience placement in our community café. This will lead to an OCR qualification in Food Hygiene.

It is expected that learners will want to continue studying and developing their skills in English and maths while taking a pathway towards hospitality and catering.

Places are allocated on an individual basis, following an interview and initial assessment.

This course will be delivered on- and off-site.

You will be asked to make a voluntary contribution to any personal food preparation throughout the year and may be asked to provide some personal safety equipment for your chosen options.

Learners set targets which are then reviewed every half term.

If appropriate, learners will develop evidence towards an OCR qualification.

Your learning support needs will be assessed and reviewed throughout the year.

You can progress within Pathways, to the Work Ready Pathway or to a Level 1 programme at the College. Alternatively you could seek employment or training.
