Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However, learners should:
- Be in a practising or aspiring management role
- Evidence of a Level 2 English qualification
- Evidence of achievement of at least a full Level 3 qualification
- Have sufficient opportunity to demonstrate management and leadership practice
What will you learn?
To achieve the CMI Level 5 Award in Management and Leadership, learners must:
- Complete a minimum of 1 unit mandatory unit: Principles of Management and Leadership in an Organisational Context (501) Achieve at least 4 credits (40 Total Qualification Time)
- Complete a minimum of 14 Guided Learning Hours (GLH)
Learners cannot select barred unit combinations and Unit 608 may not be selected as part of the Award.

How will you be assessed?
There are a variety of assessment including:
- A written report
- Creation of a management profile
- A written proposal for building a culture of mutual trust, respect and support within teams and individuals
- All assessment is internally assessed and quality assured in line with CMI requirements
Where next?
On completion, learners may:
- Progress to the CMI Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Management and Leadership
- Continue professional development towards Chartered Manager status
