This course is suitable for confident crafters interested in developing their crafting skills further through upcycling.
Entry Requirements
- Level 1 or equivalent maths and English skills
- A confident level of crafting skills/experience
- An interest in creative craft and a willingness to work independently and in groups
What will you learn?
- Researching a range of craft ideas
- Selecting suitable recycled materials for different projects
- Assessing a variety of crafting materials and tools
- Developing craft ideas and techniques
- Maintaining health and safety in the crafting environment
- Learning how to live more sustainably through upcycling
- Completing a creative project
How will you learn?
You will learn via group practical sessions and some independent study.
What will you need to bring with you?
Basic materials will be provided. You may wish to bring in your own materials to enhance your designs and the teacher will give advice regarding these. Laptops can be provided during lessons, but you may wish to bring a laptop or tablet you are more familiar with. You will need to have access to the Internet outside of the classroom.
How will you be assessed?
You will have a personal learning plan and will develop a guided digital portfolio of work that your teacher will assess and give you feedback on.
Where next?
You could consider a Level 3 qualification in Art and Design for adults or the Level 3 Certificate in Creative Craft.
