This course is aimed at anyone curious about self-employment in the crafting and creative sector and wanting a supportive introduction to enterprise skills.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements.
You should come with a basic idea for a craft-based business that you would like to develop during the course.
You will need to be prepared to work both independently and as part of a group.
You should be willing to create a simple digital portfolio to record your work and progress.
What will you learn?
You will learn how to sell your own craft products, including planning, pricing, promoting, presentation and customer interaction. You will develop practical enterprise skills while building a digital portfolio of your work.
How will you learn?
You will learn via group sessions at our Ilkeston campus.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will need access to the Internet outside of the classroom.
Laptops can be provided by the College for classroom activities, but you may wish to bring your own laptop or tablet that you are more familiar with.
How will you be assessed?
This course is designed to support achievement of an NCFE Level 1 Award in Developing Enterprise qualification.
You will have a personal learning plan and will develop a guided digital portfolio of work that your teacher will assess and give you feedback on.
