Who is this course for?
This one-day course gives the learner basic instruction in safe chainsaw use.
Entry Requirements
You need to be physically fit.
What will you learn?
- Legislation: what you need to know.
- FISA handouts
- PPE: what you need to wear
- Safety parts of a modern chainsaw: basic maintenance, fuel, filling and how to keep a chainsaw serviceable
- Fuelling and safe start
- Cross cutting tension and compression
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
PPE and chainsaws are supplied.
How will you be assessed?
There are practical assessments.
Where next?
You could enrol on the Level 2 College Certificate and have the opportunity to gain recognised NPTC units.
