Who is this course for?
This course is for individuals who are qualified chainsaw operators and who, under Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), are required to have refresher training every three-to-five years.
Entry Requirements
You will already have a qualification in felling up to 380mm.
What will you learn?
The CPD module will cover the appropriate practical skills required to meet legislation, industry technical standards and industry good practice.
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
Candidates will need to provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a chainsaw helmet with integrated ear defenders and a face visor, protective gloves, chainsaw trousers (preferably Type C for all-round leg protection), and chainsaw safety boots. A personal first-aid kit with a large-wound dressing is also recommended. All PPE should be CE marked with the chainsaw logo, in good condition, and fit correctly.
How will you be assessed?
Each candidate will complete a skills test which will be scored. Each skills test has a minimum score for the CPD module to be achieved. The assessor will complete a feedback form on the candidate’s performance in the skills test, with any recommendations required.
