What will the apprentice be doing?
There are 2 Apprentice roles in our Animal and Plant Logistical Services team (APLS) who supply animal feed to the zoo teams.
Key responsibilities:
- To harvest browse from plantations safely and effectively.
- To deliver produce on a daily basis to the relevant zones across the zoo.
- To remove animal waste from site using skip loaders
- To effectively communicate and record information
- To comply with appropriate rules, regulations and processes for safely and efficiently moving produce.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Standard
Training will be onsite at Chester Zoo.

Things to consider
This is a physical role and the role holder will spend a significant amount of time either outdoors or in temperature controlled environments. The roles will involve a range of manual tasks. We reserve the right to close the vacancy earlier based on numbers. You must have a full manual driving licence, as operating a vehicle to distribute deliveries around the site is an essential part of the role.
