Student Transfers at Derby College Group (DCG)

DCG recognises that alterations to the enrolment of a student is ‘student transfer’. It describes a range of actions that include the movement of a student from one course, or mode of study to another, either at the college, or at another providing institution. This includes students that might do the following:

  • Move from a programme of study at the college to another programme of study offered at DCG
  • Move from another provider to study with DCG
  • Move from a programme of study at DCG to another provider

Where the student is moving to another institution, the student will be supported in ensuring they have the necessary documentation available to demonstrate the achieved learning to date to the point of transfer.

Students that are transferring within the college or from another provider will be subject to the standard course entry requirements and any evidence that might be used in the completion of R/APL (Recognition/Accreditation of Prior Learning) and final approval by the awarding institution if the course is awarded by an HEI.

Students are encouraged to discuss any request of transfer with their course tutor in the first instance.

DCG are currently developing a policy procedure to capture student transfers.
