Starting at Derby College is the ideal time to try something different – widen your social circle, discover fresh experiences and pursue new interests. We want you to take full advantage of all the opportunities ahead.
Run by students for students, Derby College Students’ Union (DCSU) is here to represent YOU. Independent from the College and democratically controlled by students, we promote your diverse interests and needs throughout your time at College.
We champion the learner voice so YOUR input is crucial to ensure you have the best student experience. Do let us know your views on how to improve the College and your Union.
We provide a wide range of services to help you develop new life skills and support you through difficult times. We also run activities to make your time at College even more enjoyable
Volunteering We’re always on the look-out for event helpers, student ambassadors, magazine writers, website co-ordinators and charity fundraisers. You’ll meet new people and gain some experience that might impress a potential employer. Sign up for a Union Volunteer (UV)
opportunity when you start your course.

Derby College Students' Union provides a range of support via its own Student Advice Centre, offering confidential, impartial guidance. They offer support with many issues from sexual health, housing, college procedures, personal issues and any other concerns you may face during your time at Derby College.
The Welfare team's door is always open and there are regular awareness campaigns on key concerns affecting students.
