Ploughing Match Success

Level 3 Agriculture student, Ashley Slater won the 1st prize in vintage ploughing and 1st prize for best kept tractor and plough at Brailsford Ploughing Match.

Derby College has teamed up with Derby-based epm:technology to boost the number of young people entering the workplace with skills in advanced composites manufacturing. Applications are now being taken for the epm:technology Advanced Composites Academy which will start in September. An open day for potential learners to find out more will be held at the Roundhouse on Tuesday July 14 between 3pm and 7pm.

Students at Derby College's training kitchen and restaurant hosted more than 60 guests for the pre-dinner for the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon on Saturday night.

Guests included top chef Gordon Ramsay and F1 driver Jenson Button who were guests of honour at the dinner to celebrate the prestigious event being held in Derby for the first time on Sunday July 12.

Females into Engineering at Derby College

With a national shortage of engineers, an under-represented female workforce, and following the success of our Females into Engineering event at our Roundhouse campus, Derby College will be hosting further Females into Engineering events to promote the range of career opportunities within the engineering sector.

Derby College's Brickwork Employer Academy

The Hodgkinson Brickwork Academy at Derby College will be officially launched at the Ilkeston campus in Pimlico, Ilkeston, on Thursday May 21 with an information day for potential applicants.

Former bricklayer and a member of the first Big Brother series Craig Phillips will be at the campus between 2pm and 5pm - meeting the young people and lending his support for the Academy.
