Horticulture students at Derby College Group’s Broomfield Hall have contributed to the College’s competition medal haul with a silver award in the professional category at Gardeners World Live at the NEC (August 26 to 29).

Horticulture students at Derby College Group (DCG) are ploughing ahead with their entry into this year’s Gardeners World Live exhibition and competition at the NEC later this month.

An ambitious show garden created by Horticulture and Construction students at Derby College Group’s Broomfield Hall and Ilkeston colleges has won a silver merit medal at the prestigious BBC Gardeners World Live show at the NEC.

Four life size wooden horse sculptures have been hand-carved by an artist in Asia and have been shipped to a secret location.

Horticulture students at Derby College have won a top award at their third appearance at the prestigious BBC Gardeners World Live show at the NEC.

Having won gold and silver merit medals in the past two shows – the team won the coveted platinum award as well as the prize for the best interpretation of the theme in the 23-strong garden borders category.
