Further guidance has been published about which technical and vocational qualifications can be assessed by the College (along with A levels and GCSEs) and those which require additional assessment before they can be completed and claimed this summer.

Please be assured that, as soon as we have final confirmation, teachers and tutors will communicate specific details to their students.

Take a look at the Government's whole framework.

As I am sure you are aware, on 10th May 2020, the government gave further guidance regarding the reopening of educational settings for a minority of students from 1st June 2020, in addition to children of key workers and those who are vulnerable.

See link The UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy (FYI - FE Colleges are mentioned on page 30 Step Two of the Government strategy)

In response to this recent government guidance, the management within DCG are now working with key support teams (including Health and Safety/Estates and Facilities etc) in order to undertake a full risk assessment and identify detailed plans which reflect government advice to ensure we can accommodate more students safely.

As I am sure you can appreciate, we need to get this right and as soon as we have our plans in place we will communicate these to you. I am sure you appreciate that our priority is to keep students, staff and parents/carers safe.

I hope you and your families are well.
