Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement

We are aware that two employees and a student at Derby College have been advised by NHS111 to self-quarantine after visiting Northern Italy.

Derby College has not undertaken any college-related trips to the region and are complying with Government issued information and guidance.

A spokesperson for Derby College said:

“We are following the guidance issued by the Department of Education and Public Health England  and advising all staff and students that effective handwashing and following the  ‘Catch It, Bin It, Kill It’ procedure which is known to be the best line of defence against the spread of the virus. 

“We are also advising employees and students that if they feel unwell, they should stay at home and seek further advice by contacting NHS111.

“Cleaning staff are being extra vigilant to ensure that soap dispensers are full and extra attention is being paid to cleaning of door handles, etc..

“Cleaning wipes and sanitising gel are also being made readily available for handsets and computer keyboards.

“We are asking students and staff to make known if they have recently visited a known affected area and we remain vigilant in accordance with national guidelines.”
