Course Information for Students

This is a six-week introductory course which encourages students to express their thoughts, feelings and opinions through poetry.  It allows students to experiment with poetry writing.  There is a different central theme each week.

There is no entry requirement, although an interest in poetry is an advantage.

  • Examining poems around central themes
  • Experimenting with writing personal and thematic writing around several different themes
  • Analysing different styles of poetry

This course will be delivered on-site.

There are no additional costs.

Students will be formatively assessed against personally set targets around poetry analysis and writing.

Further Study 

You could consider English Literature/Language GCSE.
