Advanced Diploma in Music Production – Level 3
This course aims to provide a broad skills base for progression to the Extended Diploma in Music Technology. The main focus is music production, underpinned by associated theoretical and technical skills alongside professional development in relation to the music industry.

Who is this course for?
This course aims to provide a broad skills base for progression to the Extended Diploma in Music Technology. The main focus is music production, underpinned by associated theoretical and technical skills alongside professional development in relation to the music industry.
If you do not have GCSE Maths at grades A*-C (9-4), you will also develop your skills in maths. This will support your main programme of study, future progression and life skills.
Entry Requirements
You will need four GCSEs at grade A*-C (9-4) including English Language. Alternatively you may have a BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Merit or Distinction, along with GCSE English Language at grade A*-C (9-4). You will also need to provide evidence of some experience in music technology.

- Music Production Techniques
- The Sound and Music Industry
- Acoustics for Musicians
- Audio Engineering Principles
- Arranging Music
- Concert Production and Staging
- Listening Skills for Music Technologists
- Sequencing Systems and Techniques
- The Functional Music Keyboard
- Maths (if necessary)
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will need to provide a pair of headphones and a USB memory stick.
How will you be assessed?
Assessment is 100% via coursework through practical and theoretical-based assignments.
Learners studying maths will be assessed through a controlled assessment or final exam.
Where next?
Upon successful completion of this course, you can progress to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology.
