Course Information for Students

This course is for anyone who would like to learn to crochet and has no previous experience or knowledge of this traditional craft. It is for those who would like to learn to make items using this method. It is also for those who would like to try this therapeutic method of finding a calm space and unwinding. A survey by an Australian university found that crocheting makes people feel calmer, happier and better able to focus.

  • No formal entry requirements
  • All basic materials are provided to start you off

How to produce a crocheted item: 

  • How to make a slip knot onto a crochet hook
  • How to hold your hook and yarn
  • How to crochet a chain
  • How to crochet a single stitch
  • How to weave in ends


The course entails practical sessions with demonstrations, support and guidance.

All materials will be provided. 

There will be no formal examination, but you will work towards your own targets connected with learning to crochet.
