An introductory course to understanding children's settings, care and development. This course is suitable for you if you want to start training for a caring role with children. It is also ideal if you are unsure about your future career and want to find out about the childcare sector.

Who is this course for?
This course is for adults students aged 19 and over who want to understand the different roles in early years and school settings, supporting children’s learning and development.
Entry Requirements
A keen interest in wanting to work with children.
You don’t need to have previous qualifications and we can discuss options of studying functional skills Maths & English alongside the qualification.

How will you learn?
Learning activities include groups discussions, pairs or small group tasks researching information to extend your knowledge and understanding, scenario’s and examples from workplace settings.

How will you be assessed?
Your teacher will assess your learning and understanding of topics through questioning, group discussions and class tasks
Where next?
Students can progress on to the NCFE Equality & Diversity qualification which follows this course.
